Chocolate, Nutty Cookies

Holidays are a wonderful time to spend with friends and family, but it can be very challenging finding healthy 'treats'. This is a recipe that my whole family, including kids like.

INGREDIENTS:

FOR THE BASE:

1 Cup walnuts

1/2 Cup hazelnuts

1 Cup pitted dates

1/2 Cup sunflower seeds

1/3 Cup sunflower butter (any nut butter would work)

1 Tablespoon organic cocoa

FOR THE CREAM:

1 Banana

1 Tablespoon organic cocoa


METHOD:

In a food processor combine all the base ingredients together, forming a paste. with wet hands scoop about 1-2 tblespoons of the mixture and form a small round cookie. Repeat with the remaining mixutre, placing cookies on parchment paper. Flatten each cookie gently and make an indentation with your thumb in the center.

In the food processor combine the banana and cocoa and blend. Using a teaspoon, fill the indentation of the cookie with the filling and top with a half walnut. 

Refridgerate and eat!
